Lady Williams Step-Over

This is a true Australian Federation apple believed to be the daughter of Rokewood and Granny Smith both of which are famous old Australian varieties. It is a large apple, maturing July or even later and keeps extremely well. Brilliant red purple skin, longish conical fruit with excellent flavour. Tree is quite vigorous and should produce excellent lateral growth on the step-over. This variety originated in the apple growing areas of Western Australia and is suitable for low-chill conditions.

As we grow it on other rootstocks, be sure that you want it as a Step-over.

Pollination Guide

  • Pollination is far simpler than most people think. Generally, unless self fertile simply get 2 or more different varieties in the same group (eg pears) to ensure adequate pollination. A more comprehensive explanation can be found in our Pollination Guide
