A stunning apple imported from Canada in the 1930's and grown at Hayes prison farm near New Norfolk, Tasmania. A small to medium apple, and cross between Mcintosh and Newtown Pippin (parent of Spartan). Sweet and fragrant, very white flesh with a tinge of pink. Pinkish to bright red skin. Appears to bear heavily and regularly - a little later than Macintosh in late march.
