Twenty Ouncer Dwarfing

This is one of the largest varieties we grow. Just huge, rivaling Belle Cacheuse and Peasgood Nonesuch in size. And as the name suggests, the fruit are up to twenty ounces (566g) in weight! Greenish in colour flushed and striped where the sun gets it. Coarse but tender yellowish flesh, cooks fantastically and is good eaten too - shared between 4 people! Originated in eastern USA, New York or possibly Connecticut about 1840.
