Planet Ark celebrates National tree day on 28th July, and is responsible for coordinating volunteers to plant trees. For every dollar you donate, Woodbridge Fruit Trees will match with an equivalent amount, doubling the donation. See their work here: treeday.planetark.org
A hugely popular variety, again from a breeding program in south-west Canada 1968. Large fruit almost the size of a small plum, dark purple or black skin, succulent and sweet. Quite resistant to splitting when ripe. Self pollinating although having another variety will increase yield. Has a reputation for pollinating most other cherries, so a must-have variety. Ripens from mid December to late January slightly before Simone and Lapin.
