Woodbridge Winter Pippin Step-Over
This variety is almost certainly a seedling of Sturmer. Hangs extremely late, greenish yellow skin with a patch of orange when ripe and some russet. The flesh is dense with medium crunch, warmly sweet with quite high acid. Medium sized fruit. Like sturmer, a perfect all rounder, great to eat, cook, make cider and juice, plus keeps well and crops heavily. with high acid and firm flesh. It's extremely late, very acid, and is really a great all rounder - eaten fresh, cooked, juiced or made into cider. Makes a very attractive step-over, with the tree holding onto the fruit after the leaves have dropped.
As we grow it on other rootstocks, be sure that you want it as a Step-over.
