Coe's Golden Drop

This famous old English plum has a clear yellow skin and gorgeous yellow flesh with a sweet melting flavour. Amazing eaten (juicy!), and good for stewing and jams. Pollinated by Damson, Angelina, Greengage. Ripens late February

  • Ripening Time: February - March
  • Fertility: Needs a pollinator for itself, produces viable pollen
  • Growth Habit: Can be espaliered using the "fan" style only. Free standing tree grows to around 3 - 5m tall.
  • Rootstock: Non-dwarfing rootstock
  • Chill Tolerance: Normal chill
  • Pollination is far simpler than most people think. Generally, unless self fertile simply get 2 or more different varieties in the same group (eg pears) to ensure adequate pollination. A more comprehensive explanation can be found in our Pollination Guide
  • More information on Espaliering
  • More information in our Articles and on planting and pruning.
