Goldmine Nectarine

This is the old white-fleshed Nectarine, ripens late February-March here and has intense rich flavour, but most important of all is fairly resistant to leaf curl. It needs special care with water and well fertilized to produce sweet plump fruit. In good conditions it will rewards you with a huge amount of fruit. Ideal for eating fresh, preserves, pies or frozen as halved fruit. Reliable cropper. When pruned can stay small - 3m but if allowed will head up to 5m.

  • Ripening Time: February - March
  • Fertility: Self-Fertile, produces viable pollen
  • Growth Habit: Can be espaliered using the "fan" style only. Free standing tree grows to around 3 - 5m tall.
  • Rootstock: Non-dwarfing rootstock
  • Chill Tolerance: Normal chill
  • Pollination is far simpler than most people think. Generally, unless self fertile simply get 2 or more different varieties in the same group (eg pears) to ensure adequate pollination. A more comprehensive explanation can be found in our Pollination Guide
