Notice Board:
We are a small nursery interested in preserving old fruit tree varieties. For close to 30 years we have been selling a big range of heritage fruit tree varieties on dwarfing root stock. They have a spectrum of colour, size, flavour and textures that's far richer than anything you can buy at the grocer these days.
Our varieties have a big range of fruiting times and uses: eating, drying, cooking, preserving, juicing and making cider. We also grow a few trees on semi-dwarfing and non-dwarfing rootstocks.
Our secret is simple. Rather than the supermarket dictating which fruit you eat based on how well it can be cool-store or resist bruising and blemishing, you can grow your own and enjoy if fresh off the tree. If you plant a range of fruit trees that ripen at early, mid and late in the season, you can keep yourself in fruit for about six months of the year. Even longer if you can store them into the Spring. Whatever you grow, there is nothing that comes close to the pleasure of growing your own food.
Note, our trees are bare rooted and only ship in winter: mid July-August.
Please read our common questions page and look at our articles for information on growing and espaliering dwarf fruit trees.
